Let’s talk : Pet Peeves 😐

When it comes to pet peeves, there are certain things I can tolerate and then there are the ones I simply cannot. Pet peeves, in simple terms, are actions or things you find annoying or irritating when others do it.

The following are 10 of my biggest pet peeves 😒:
1. Chewing Noises: I find this very annoying. I don’t need to hear the noise from your chewing. I believe you can chew without being so loud.
2. Talking during a movie: Don’t ask me questions when I’m in the middle of a movie. Don’t even talk when I’m watching a movie. I can answer a question or two but don’t be asking me multiple questions. Watch the movie and understand!
3. Bad Grammar: I know nobody is perfect but if you’re still struggling with "am & I’m", "your & you’re" then there’s a problem especially if you went to school.
4. Talking over people: So we’re having a conversation and next thing, you’re raising your voice. My dear, I have a loud voice too. I can shout too. Pass your message without sounding rude or talking over people.

5. Lending someone something and they don’t return it after saying they would: I find people who do this really annoying. I borrowed someone 3k early this year because this guy kept bugging me, saying he’ll pay back even gave me a date. Till now, I’ve not seen it and he doesn’t even talk to me. 3k is small, yes, but if you said you would pay back, pay back.
6. Talking to me when I have headphones on: Whenever you see me with my earphones especially when I’m walking on the streets, clearly minding my business, it means I don’t want to talk!!! Yet, some people still walk up to me, talk to me, making me unplug my earphones. I don’t like it. Except I’m without my earphones, then I can talk but once I’m with it, especially with both ears plugged in, don’t talk to me.

7. Strangers calling me "sweetie", "my love", "hey" or "sssssss": The proper way or rather, the NORMAL way to get someone’s attention is by saying, "Excuse me." There’s nothing as cringy as hearing someone I don’t know calling me pet names! Don’t you know your girlfriend?
8. Staring at me: Ohhhhh!!! It’s okay to glance at someone but to stare continously, it’s uncomfortable. I find it very uncomfortable when someone stares at me for long. I’ve recently mastered the art of staring back. I stare back at you until you break contact. We can both be mad, trust me. 👍
9. Standing close to me on a queue: I respect people’s boundaries and i appreciate same. Don’t encroach my personal space. I don’t need to hear you breathe or feel suffocated from your presence. I am claustrophobic 😬.
10. False accusations: Out of all my pet peeves, this one takes the cake. Nothing upsets me more than being falsely accused. You didn’t see me do something then you say I did it. I hate having to defend myself when I didn’t do something.
